Annapurna Base Camp is situated in the Annapurna Conservation Area, in the Himalayan region of Nepal. It lies in the north-central part of the country.
Trek Difficulty:
The Annapurna trek can be difficult for the beginners but it can be a amazing lifetime trek experience for the Pro-trekkers. The difficulty level depends on the route chosen. The trek can be complted in 9 to 14 days depending upon the weather, trekker’s ability and the route chosen.
Best time to visit
The best time to trek to Annapurna Base Camp is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is stable, and the skies are clear. These months offer the best visibility and pleasant trekking conditions. In these months the weather is also suitable for trekking.
Permits:
To enter the Annapurna Conservation Area, you’ll need to obtain a TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card and an Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP).
Accommodation:
Along the trekking route, there are teahouses and lodges where you can find accommodation and meals. The teahouse and lodges along the way provide the basic facilities and services. It is better to carry a sleeping bag just in case of worst case scenario.
Preparation:
Proper physical fitness is essential for the trek, as you’ll be walking for several hours each day. Be sure to pack appropriate clothing, trekking gear, and a first aid kit. The beginner trekkers may take some training before the trek for safety and strength.
Altitude Sickness:
Be aware of the risk of altitude sickness as you ascend to higher elevations. Acclimatization days are usually built into the trek to help minimize this risk.

- Drive to Nayapul (1.5 to 2 hours) and start trekking.

- Continue to Ghorepani (2,860m).

- Poon Hill Sunrise, Trek to Tadapani

- Descend to the Kimrong Khola and then ascend to Chhomrong (2,170m).

- Trek to Dovan
- Trek to Dovan (2,600m), passing through Bamboo forests.

- Trek to MBC (3,700m) with increasing views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

- Trek back to Bamboo
- Descend to Bamboo (2,340m) for a shorter trekking day.
Day 12
- Trek to Jhinu Danda
- Trek to Jhinu Danda (1,780m).
- Relax in natural hot springs.
Day 13
- Trek to Nayapul, Drive to Pokhara
- Trek to Nayapul.
- Drive back to Pokhara and, if time allows, explore more of Pokhara.
